Weekly Events

Small Group Bible Studies
Small groups are a great way to get to know other students!
Each group meets for approximately 90 minutes once a week (times and days vary by group) and is a time to talk about how your week is going, pray for each other, study and discuss the Bible (topics will vary by group), and challenge each other to grow in your relationship with God. Check out the calendar for meeting times and group leader contact info.

Friday Night Large Group
We meet in McGraw 165 every Friday night from 7:30 until about 9:00. We start out with a time of worship through music, then have a teaching from the Bible, and sometimes small group discussions. After the meeting we usually do something fun like go to collegetown, play a game, etc. We call this After Hours.

Monthly and Semester Events

Fellowship Events
The Oxford American Dictionary uses the following words to define“fellowship.”Companionship, Friendship, Mutual Support, Togetherness, and Informal Chumminess. Using this definition, all Chi Alpha events have an element of fellowship to them. However, about once a month we have an event where fellowship is the sole purpose. A few of our past fellowship events include: miniature golf, swim party, a bonfire, and our annual Christmas party. Check out the calendar for upcoming fellowship events.

Body of One
This is a corporate prayer meeting that takes place on the first Saturday of every month. There are other times of prayer that take place throughout the week, but Body of One is focused on praying for our campus.

Solid Food
Solid Food gives us an opportunity to explore a biblical teaching, theological concept, or religious idea more in depth than time allows during our Friday night meetings. We have this event once a semester on a Saturday afternoon.

Retreats and Conferences
Once or twice a year we go out of town for a weekend retreat or to attend a conference. Getting off campus is a nice stress reliever for everyone and a fun way to get to know other people in the group better. Click here for info about our next getaway.

Mission Trips
Once a year we take a mission trip, usually over spring break. Jesus commanded us to serve both the practical and spiritual needs of people. Therefore our trips vary from year to year in the type of trip we take as well as if we serve nationally or internationally.

Chi Alpha is a Christian campus ministry on universities throughout the United States and around the world. We come from a lot of different backgrounds and that diversity makes Chi Alpha unique. The Greek letters Chi (X) and Alpha (A) are the initials of Christou apostoloi which means "Christ's Ambassadors." The name is a reminder that we should live to reflect Jesus.

We have lots of fun things going on so feel free to jump in anytime during the semester! All of our events are laid back and open to anyone, regardless of your background.

There are always new things popping up, but here is a list of some things we do on a regular basis. Stay up to date on the details with the calendar.
